After colon surgery, pain intensity is moderate and may not create adequate highly noxious stimulus to ascertain any clear differences between groups.
Pain control or pain intensity after surgery was reported in four studies [ 18– 21], three of which [ 19– 21] showed significantly less pain in patients who underwent FTS.
Patients, who undergo elective surgery with anticipated intensity of POP of ≥3/10 on an 11-point NRS (a priori defined procedure-specific POP intensity, depending on the size and localization of surgical lesion), were asked to participate in the survey.

After surgery, the signal intensity of the sham cartilage dropped at 2 weeks and recovered 4 weeks postoperatively.
Several studies have reported that surgeries reduced pain intensity and neurological deficits, and the overall outcome was good in approximately 80% of cases [ 9].
