In 2005, I was posted to 13 Air Assault Support Regiment, the logistical element of the UK's 16 Air Assault Brigade.
The 5th Mounted Brigade had been completely surprised; its commander and his important reserve force had been out of position at a critical time following false intelligence, and could not support his regiments.
Additionally, the brigade contains the 2nd Battalion (Combat Support), 310th Regiment; and 3rd Battalion (Logistics Support), 313th Regiment, which are both headquartered at Fort Devens, Massachusetts.

Although the unit's purpose was to provide support for engineer regiments, it was also an infantry unit that was equipped to fight if necessary.
