The government has gutted support for skills and training by cutting half a billion in funding as well as scrapping a range of key agencies (like the Australian Workforce Productivity Agency) to be abolished and funding for key programs (like support apprentices) scrapped.
This money will provide additional support for skills development, training and support for local businesses.
So nothing very revolutionary on this front as yet, with the opportunity to expand available finance support for skills being put on ice until the bloc's next major financing framework.
