Also supplementary channels, such as Google, Google Scholar and contact with authors, served to supply information that was otherwise unavailable.
With adequate recognition and effective engagement of all these issues, BCI systems could eventually provide an important new communication and control option for those with motor disabilities and might also give those without disabilities a supplementary control channel or a control channel useful in special circumstances.

As a final example of multiple channels of inheritance note that cultural transmission in humans and animals, which is required for the reconstruction of behavioral phenotypes such as bird songs, food preferences, and other cultural traditions (Avital & Jablonka 2000), may also be considered to constitute supplementary inheritance channels.
Our studies indicate that the channels identified in aphids typically cluster with Nav1 type channels (Fig. 7), rather than Na v2 channels (Supplementary Fig. 4), and that the aphid Nav1-like channels segregate with other hemipteran Nav1 channels on the tree.
