To further explore the strength of the relationship between polar cap anomalies and NAM anomalies, composite analysis was made with the Northern Hemisphere 500 hPa geopotential height anomalies and 500 hPa PCH anomalies (Supplementary Figure 6a) and 500 hPa NAM anomalies.
As depicted by the spatial propagation of the salinity anomaly (Supplementary Fig. 3), high mesoscale activity in the region such as eddies33 can transport, disperse and maintain high DFe at the WTSP scale.
This percent increase in detection rates was equally high among low-risk pregnancies and on those with an ultrasound anomaly (Supplementary Table 3).
There was a group effect on referential anomalies (Supplementary Table 2).
The difference between composited PCH and NAM anomalies (Supplementary Figure 6b) further highlights the distinction between polar cap and NAM variability.
Ground deformation pulses and clustered earthquakes support the timing of the IMF events, which were independently fixed based on geochemical anomalies (Supplementary Fig. 2).
We also find that if we increase the simulated SOA formation from BVOCs (by a factor of five) the relationship between N 100 and temperature further breaks down at warm temperature anomalies (Supplementary Fig. 4).
Other symptoms documented in all three patients include joint laxity, partial syndactyly, brachydactyly and sandal gap pointing to skeletal anomalies (Supplementary Material, Fig. S1).
Compared with normoxic embryos, chronically hypoxic embryos (9, 11 and 13% O2) exhibited developmental delay and a spectrum of cephalic and facial anomalies (supplementary material Fig. S1 for 4-day and Fig. S2 for 6-day embryos).
Formation of the Meckel's cartilage (MC) and ceratohyal cartilage (CH) were highly affected by MEK inhibition; concentrations as low as 0.5 μM PD0325901 at 4 hpf and 0.8 μM PD0325901 at 48 hpf caused moderate-to-severe anomalies (supplementary material Fig. S2).
In our case, the model allows to us to follow the anomalies spatially (Supplementary Fig. 3a d) as the ocean currents advect and diffuse the initial anomalies of Volcano 8.
