Pitched as "personal news radio", it gets you to choose your favourite (text) news sources, then pulls in stories every day from them, summarising them and using text-to-voice technology to create the equivalent of a personalised news podcast – complete with weather and traffic reports for its US users (although it's also available in the UK).
But as Serena begins reading the writer's stories, summarising them at length in her own text, it begins to look, unexpectedly, as if the book's real subject is in fact going to be its own navel, or at least its own author.
