Estimates of overall GBH use by U.S. farmers and ranchers are available from three sources: the sum of crop-specific NASS data in any given year; the EPA periodic reports noted above; and, the pesticide use data set compiled by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), which in turn draws heavily on private survey data [24 26].
Model spectrum: The model spectrum is obtained from a sum of "cropped" signals constructed from applying the F͡1 and F͡2 operators to a synthetic time-domain model (see Table 1) along each dimension.
The grazing livestock system is characterized by a demand for market feed and a demand for non-market feed (roughage demand; i.e., the sum of fodder, crop residues fed to grazers, and grazing).
Since crops are rotated and cropping periods do not always follow the calendar year, net ecosystem production (NEP) as well as net biome production (NBP) sums of full crop rotations or of at least 4 years of longer-term crop rotations and of monocultures were used.

HANPP is calculated as the sum of (a) HANPPharv, which consists of primary crop harvest and crop-residues and (b) indirect NPP changes through land conversion and land use change (HANPPluc) (Fig. 1).
Furthermore, the sum of fallow land and all crop areas reported in the statistics was lower than total arable land before 1927, indicating an under-reporting of cropland areas in the historical statistics (between 15% and 20% in the 1883 1940 period).
In his book Farmers' Bounty, Brush (2004) summed up the two predominant questions that are of interest in studies of farmer selection of crop seed: (1) What criteria are employed for selection and (2) What is the process of selection?

Additionally, the variable importance measures demonstrated that the mode and sum of EVI had extremely important variables for crop class separability.
The latter was calculated as the difference between annual feed supply (market feed, forage production and used crop residues) and the sum of annual feed demand of all livestock species.
