I sat down with Farb recently to learn more about her entrepreneurial journey as she transitioned from sector to sector, succeeding beyond expectations in each despite the challenges initially presented.
In a speech in January, Tory leader David Cameron praised its work as "yet another example of the voluntary sector succeeding where the state has failed".
There should be no barriers to people succeeding whatever the sector, gender, cultural or economic background.
"Our vision with women.nyc is to make NYC the nation's best city for women to succeed across sectors – including tech, where women have historically been underrepresented," NYC Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen said in a statement to TechCrunch.

And succeeding in the public sector is more difficult than succeeding in business.
As 2015 gets underway there is no doubt that the startup sector is succeeding outside of Silicon Valley and the northeast region of the United States.
However, even if targeted policies in the modern sector succeed in raising the productivity of labor in that sector, the rising productivity does not translate into higher real wages for labor.
Last year, according to several participants, private talks among major figures from government, academia and the private sector succeeded only in convincing the rule makers that bankers were in denial about their role in causing a global financial crisis.
And finally, the tech sector succeeds when our country succeeds.
But in truth it is still unclear how big the appetite for head-worn computers will be, and Google's Project Glass - which benefits from the company's strong tech brand - is expected to play a critical role in determining whether the sector succeeds or fails.
