I've seldom met anyone more careful to qualify so many opinions with "for me", or "I think, anyway", or some other subtle disclaimer to defuse any risk of sounding self-important.

The current design does not differ from other California licenses except for a subtle mark on the front and a disclaimer on the back in small print: "This card is not acceptable for official federal purposes".
Some restaurants post signs in their windows saying "We can't guarantee your safety here with food allergies", put disclaimers on the menus and even encourage you in not so subtle words to leave.
