Both methods model the original data by assembling a substantially smaller dataset representing the larger original data.
Model 3 additionally controlled for zip code level exposure to air pollution (fine particulate matter and ozone); model 3 was fitted to a substantially smaller dataset of 779 zip codes rather than the 2218 zip codes used for models 1 and 2, because of the limited availability of air pollution data.
