Researchers modeled the density and viscosity of various water-ice mixtures to determine how quickly such a pocket of liquid water which is substantially denser than ice might sink.
If the 2011 occultation results are used, then Eris has a density of, substantially denser than Pluto, and thus must be composed largely of rocky materials.
However these spindles, although able to initially align chromosomes, were substantially less dense than control embryos, exhibiting a thin appearance and arresting prior to anaphase (Fig. 2A; Supplementary Videos 1 and 2).
