A year-long subscription to the Famous platform costs a couple hundred thousand dollars up into the millions, and lets marketers multiply different Instant App campaigns.
They'll have to pay for a subscription to use the platform, and will also need a Stamp.it compatible device — currently an iPad, which the company can optionally supply — in order to scan the loyalty card/app's QR code via its front-facing camera and supporting Stamp.it retailer app.
The business model involves charging employers a subscription fee for access to the platform, with the amount being charged varying depending on the size of the employer.
The majority of the revenue, however, comes from enterprise customers, who pay a subscription fee for access to the platform (and the startups listed there) and then a per proof of concept price.
Yahoo!, Napster and RealNetworks have designed their music stores and subscription services to work with the platform, while device makers including Toshiba, Samsung and Creative have all built players designed to sync with the system.
Merchants, meanwhile, pay a subscription fee to get on the platform and then hand over 12-15 percent of all revenue that is driven by Magicpin.
The whole system is a bit similar to subscription patronage platform Patreon, but with a Group and its admin at the center instead of some star creator.
Asked whether the channel would be taken off the Internet as a condition of gaining carriage on television, a spokesman said, "TheBlaze has no plans to do that at this time and believes that the continued success of the subscription platform proves to distributors the demand for our content".
Second, "we expect the availability of popular content for digital video subscription platforms to be restricted over the next five-plus years due to existing contracts between studios and premium cable networks," he said.
But finally SubHub, the platform for subscription content websites, has closed a significant funding round.
