But a recent study indicates that the number of cord cutters in North America is, in fact growing – in 2014, 8.2percentt of former pay TV subscribers surveyed by TiVo subsidiary Digitalsmiths said they ditched their service – an increase of 1.3percentt over the prior year.
While it's difficult to count exactly how many people have started ditching pay TV services for over-the-top streaming media, a study by Digitalsmiths (a TiVo subsidiary) found that in 2014, 8.2percentt of former pay TV subscribers they surveyed had gotten rid of their pay TV subscriptions, with many citing increasing fees for cable and satellite services as their main motivation.
We merged the results for Orange, T-Mobile and their parent company Everything Everywhere (EE) because most customers of the first two brands described themselves as EE subscribers in the survey.
Dish said it lost 102,000 net subscribers in the period, compared with the average forecast for an addition of about 20,000 subscribers, according to a survey of five Wall Street analysts.
The magazine said it had upgraded its rating because the Escape's reliability, based on its annual survey of subscribers, had improved to "average".
The survey asked subscribers whether they had any problems with their cars in the last year that they considered serious because of safety considerations, the cost incurred or the time required for repairs.
