Her specialty of "spaciality," which I came to understand was the study of how the allotment of physical space is used by the powers that be to keep others in a subordinate condition, seemed a plausible undertaking, but Ms. Tickamyer's paper was so clogged with her craft's jargon ("access to gender space"; "maxi- and micro-analysis;" "complex multirational") that it left little breathing space.
The control group (Table 2) show a strong effect of condition [ F 2,28) = 43.92, P < 0.001], with a high rate of unacceptable judgements for the continuations in the subordinate condition, a much lower rate in the dominant condition, and almost no unacceptable judgements in the unambiguous condition (a similar pattern was also observed for the reaction times).
A similar left inferior parietal lobule, angular gyrus and supramarginal gyrus cluster was seen for the dominant condition and an overlapping, more ventral region in left posterior middle temporal gyrus and angular gyrus for the subordinate condition (Fig. 3B and C).

In the ambiguity study, sensitivity to syntax was indicated by a greater difference in unacceptable responses between syntactically ambiguous and unambiguous sentences, and between subordinate and dominant conditions.
In a direct comparison between the subordinate and dominant conditions (Fig. 2D), we found greater activation for subordinate compared with dominant sentences in left inferior frontal gyrus (BA 45 and 47) and left posterior middle temporal gyrus, replicating previous results (Rodd et al., 2010).
The lack of a dominance effect in the correlations between activity and behaviour reflects the reduced differentiation between subordinate and dominant conditions compared with the controls, which in turn reflects impairments in the patients' capacity to compute well-differentiated syntactic analyses of sentential inputs.
Without doubt, EIE therapy is centred on surgery, however surgical intervention is subordinate to several conditions: horizontal deviation stability, estimation of vertical deviation (if any), absence of accommodative factors, presence of alternating fixation (spontaneous or re-educated), sufficient patient cooperation to set up an appropriate operative program.
The relaunch, a response to all those changing conditions, subordinated editorializing to giving travellers a well-stuffed factual cushion that they could place between themselves and danger or discomfort.
