Apart of the r5 and r6 portions, we propose a dorsoventral subdivision of the RMg complex into a slightly dispersed intermediate stratum component (RMgD), and a more compact ventral or superficial part (RMgV); this notion was already introduced by Puelles et al. (2007) in the chick atlas.
