The need for two different timers is due to the fact that the confirmation of a single sub-request could eventually reach the minimum flow restriction, thereby cancelling the timer per flow.
On the other hand, the per sub-request timer expiration event occurs when the flow is partially confirmed and the portion of bandwidth required, which has not been confirmed, is released.
In such a scenario, whenever a request reaches a node, it is divided into N sub-request, where N is the number of descendent nodes with available bandwidth for reserving.
