Students who apply to colleges through the Common App and whose high school uses the Naviance system (a school-based college planning platform that facilitates students' submission of their college applications, including transcripts, recommendations and other form) need to know that it is extremely important that they use the same email address for both.
This is achieved by utilising a variety of question formats (e.g. multiple choice, drop-down lists) with immediate feedback following students' submission of responses.
In 77 written student submissions and 24 video or video / written combined submissions, private college students expressed high levels of satisfaction with academic staff, referencing their subject knowledge, teaching ability and approachability.
The student submissions in grades 9 through 12 will be screened at the City Center 15: Cinema de Lux in White Plains on March 9 and, through the support of the Matthew S. Hisiger Film Foundation, the student capturing first prize will win $1,000 and the student's school will receive a professional high-definition camera package valued at $5,000.
The orchestration system, based on IMS Learning Design and Generic Service Integration, automatically evaluated the student submissions and gradually unlocked the following activities depending on the received results.
Tight scheduling, large classes, and other workload requirements also places pressure on individuals grading work who have limited time to turn around student submissions.
This work shows how this feature can be exploited to invoke external tools, i.e. Logisim, not only for the automatic verification of the student submissions, but also for a detailed analysis of the results that improves the assessment.
Given the nature of the assignments, it was clear (and supported by software results) that the copying was from prior student submissions, where inadvertent plagiarism (e.g., from poor academic writing skills) is unlikely or impossible.
I understand that special software very sensitive in plagiarism detection (with respect to Internet sources and other student submissions from now and in the past) is used for this course, and if any instance of plagiarism or some other violation is detected, I will get an F* or an appropriately lowered grade on this course".
