Having taught general education courses for the past 8 years at a private Christian university in east Texas, I have encountered firsthand many of these misconceptions about evolution (see Isaak 2003, Cunningham and Wescott 2009) and the nature of science (see McComas 1996) as well as student apprehension toward the two subjects.
