Because the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signal from the ice was very weak, the air space of snow was filled with a fluid that had a strong NMR signal.
It was also shown that NMR peaks are usually not observed from flexible and/or disordered regions due to severe line-broadening and/or inefficient cross-polarization caused by motional averaging of dipolar interactions37,38,39. Thus, the strong NMR cross-peaks from WT oligomers (red) shown in Fig. 4b suggests that the oligomers contain rigid, structured regions.
In addition, there was a stronger NMR signal intensity for acetate and choline in fish fed diet FM than in fish fed diet ST, and a stronger NMR signal intensity for lysine, β-alanine, glucose and inosine in fish fed diet FZ than in fish fed diet ST.
