Second, to get change deep into the system, there is a need for action at all levels of government and the consensual formulation of strong and integrative concepts on which to build substantive reform.
Both must be strong to achieve "Integrative Presence".
Specifically, at WFUSM the strong interest in integrative medicine has been reflected in its research activities, e.g., nearly $16 million in funded research and 97 peer-reviewed publications on these topics in 2005 2006 (personal communication, WFUSM Program for Holistic and Integrative Medicine, 7/25/06).
These advances in engineering juxtacrine signaling lay a strong foundation for an integrative approach to utilize synthetic cells, advanced 'chassis' and predictive modeling to engineer the form and function of living tissues.
There is a strong consensus that new integrative tools and approaches for human exposure and risk characterization are needed to significantly advance environmental risk and health impact assessment and health protection (Cohen Hubal et al. 2010; Lioy and Rappaport 2011; National Research Council 2012).
One common genetic method used to enhance riboflavin production derived from fermentation by GM B. subtilis, is to clone the riboflavin biosynthesis operon (ribG, ribB, ribA and ribH) from B. subtilis under the control of a strong constitutive promoter into (integrative) plasmids (e.g. pUC19, pBR322) [ 9– 11].
