The severe storm season in the US has started to build up over the last week, with some southern states being hit by strong winds, hail and tornadoes on Sunday.
Some storms "could contain strong winds, hail and even an isolated tornado", it said.
Further north and at higher elevations, the weather can be cold, characterized by low temperatures, strong winds, hail or snow storms and reduced visibility.

The bad weather should settle Tuesday in the Ohio and Tennessee valleys, where hail, strong winds and tornadoes are possible.
Severe weather moved across Ohio and Pennsylvania on Thursday afternoon, and into New York and New England, bringing heavy rain and in some cases, strong winds and hail.
At least 20 homes were badly damaged and six people were taken to hospital in the Chattanooga, Tennessee, area after strong winds and hail lashed the area.
In the Moore area, hail, strong winds and rainfall are likely, but the tornado threat is considered to be very low because of cool air temperatures.
"It is a storm that has brought wide-ranging effects, from heavy snow and ice to severe weather, including strong winds and hail down South," said Joey Picca, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
