Stride length: distance between successive placements of the same paw VIII.
Because the positions of the targets were predetermined according to the task, the subjects were not able to retain their usual gait parameters such as stride length, distance, and variability of stride.
The parameters examined were: stride length (distance between left and right footprints), limb rotation (angle between a virtual line through the third digit and the centre of the palm and a virtual line parallel to the walking direction) and distance between feet (distance between feet of the left and right stepping cycle) were analyzed.
Here, outward rotation (angle between paws) was unaltered, while stride length (distance from left to right paw print) tended to decrease towards later observation time points, but did not reach statistical significance (F 32,101) = 1.256; P = 0.113 and F 32,101) = 1.183; P = 0.261, respectively, Table 1, data for contralateral side not shown).
STRIDE Cooper said that to allow for forces to be transferred properly up the legs and into the rest of the body, a pitcher's stride length the distance from rubber to the front foot's ankle bone should be about 87 percent of the pitcher's height.
Subsequently, with an increase in stride frequency at a fixed walking speed (15 cm/s), stride length (the distance between initial contact of the same paw in a complete stride) and stride time progressively decreased with increasing clinical scores.
Endpoints included relative paw position (hind overlapping/non-overlapping with front paws), timing (stand, swing and step cycle), base of support, pressure and dimensions of each footfall, which enabled calculation of stride length, paw distance, and regularity index (preferred paw placement sequence during walking) and were averaged for all compliant runs.
Two parameters were measured: (1) the overlap distance between forepaw and hindpaw on the same side; (2) the stride length as the distance of the hindpaw on the same side between each step.

The stride length is the distance (cm) between successive placements of the same paw.
