Our results showed that EBR pretreatment followed by HT stresses displayed attenuated thermal injury coupled with lower MG and MDA content and less accumulation of O 2 ∙ − and H2O2 at 40 °C, which indicated that exogenous EBR has a key role in ROS scavenging and reduction of oxidative stress in HT-stressed F. concinna seedlings.
Maritime pine (Pinus pinaster Aiton) is particularly tolerant to abiotic stresses, displaying relatively high levels of intraspecific variability [ 7].
