By RT communication, we mean small-sized packets generated in periodic intervals that must be delivered before the end of the message stream period.
This is justified, because catalyst stability runs showed a steady activity without any sign of decrease in conversion with a time on-stream period of 100 h.
Those boundaries include: (a) an average message delay that must be clearly smaller than the message stream period (MSP); (b) an average queue size that must be clearly smaller than 1 packet; (c) a packet loss rate that must be clearly smaller than 5%.
The opposite occurs when the traversal time value is increased to 1,000 ms. Therefore, to optimize the RT communication behavior it is recommended to set the traversal time to the maximum message stream period value, i.e., 200 ms for this communication scenario.
