Third, a stepping stone model for Bayes Factor topology testing was applied to positive and negative topological constraints (Table 2) using MrBayes v. 3.2.1, following the recommendations for topology constraints on null hypotheses as described in Bergsten et al. [ 37].
Here, cluster 2 is very well separated from cluster 4, suggesting no close migratory relation and an overall stepping stone model for cluster 4, 7 and 2. The best model was chosen through the Log Bayes Factor (LBF) calculation, which was carried out using the value of thermodynamic integration instead of the harmonic mean, since the latter has been shown to be less reliable [ 40, 72].

For microsatellites the isolation by distance pattern is in line with a stepping stone model of a regional equilibrium with gene flow and drift [compare [ 26]].
Additionally, based on our extensive sampling of the Horn of Africa, Arabian Peninsula, and South Asia, we find no evidence for the stepping-stone model of dispersal across the Arabian Peninsula for any African (Amietophrynus) or Asian (Duttaphrynus) bufonid species (Figs. 2- 6), as no species of Amietophrynus are found in Iran or Pakistan.
For the Stepping Stone model the average immigration rate was estimated from the global FST values for the two sets of six collections (original and wild-born), and the same global FST values were used in denominators for the Island model.
The stepping stone model allows migration between adjacent populations: for example, at time t, the population 4 can exchange individuals with populations 3 or 5, but not with other populations.
However, the negative slopes (respectively -0.3451 and -0.4177) were shallower than expected for a strict stepping-stone model (-0.5 for a two-dimensional array, [ 26]) and might indicate some long-distance dispersal [ 27].
For the production of MCG crowns, a wax pattern was produced by using a conventional method with high strength dental stone model.
The metapopulation Ne was first calculated according to the Stepping Stone model (Maruyama 1970) and the Island model (Wright 1943) using Ne values from the LD- Ne and SA- Ne and then we calculated the harmonic mean of the metapopulation LD- Ne and SA- Ne for final metapopulation Hm Ne values (meta-Hm Ne) based on the Stepping Stone and Island models.
The power of the tests to detect genetic differentiation in Wright-Fisher island models and stepping stone models was calculated for various sample sizes, rates of migration and mutation, and definitions of spatial neighborhoods.
