The effect of parameters such as the type and volume of extraction solvent, dispersive solvent and derivatization agent, pH, ionic strength and stirring time, was studied using multivariate experimental design.
As an extension of the previous investigation, the stirring time was varied in the range of 1 20 h. Figure 1a, 1b show typical TEM images of the nanofibers obtained after 1 h of stirring.
The optimum conditions were: the poloxamer 188 concentration was 0.25%, the drug concentration was 0.08 g/ml, the volume ratio of antisolvent to solvent was 10, the precipitation temperature was 25 °C, the dropping speed was 4 ml/min, the stirring speed was 800 r/min, the stirring time was 5 min.
Therefore, the optimum value of stirring time was found to be 35 min. The change in the rate of lead ion removal might be due to the fact that initially all adsorbent sites were vacant and the solute concentration gradient is high.
