We acquired DWI (b0, b400, b600), FAT SAT T1w imaging before and after gadolinium administration and STIR images.
Axial STIR images (left) and fused PET/CT images (right).
Lesions appear hypointense on T1-weighted images and hyperintense on the STIR images.
Visually, hyperintensities on the Topup corrected DWI2 images matched closely the STIR images.
STIR images could identify the small brown lipomatous component with incomplete fat saturation (Fig. 4).
MRI showed nonuniform low signal intensity in T1- and T2-weighted images and high intensity in STIR images.
Remark the good contrast resolution of STIR images in revealing infiltration of the ribs: 'white ribs sign'.
Correlation and DICE coefficients between DWI b0 and STIR images were computed, for all DWI image sets.
The oedema seen on STIR images, however does not show a consistent relationship with disease activity [38].
The liver signal in STIR images is not influenced by the presence of either fibrosis or steatosis.
They are surrounded by fine reticular septa, slightly hyperintense on fat-suppressed T2W and STIR images (Fig. 3).
