Identifying the relevant determinants, and underlying beliefs to influence, is a crucial step in intervention development (G. Peters, 2014; Crutzen et al., 2017).
Carrying out a needs assessment is the first step in intervention development.
The IM protocol is a framework for effective theory- and evidence-based decision making at each step in intervention development, implementation, and evaluation.
Thus, early screening and identification of those who are exhibiting posttraumatic mental health problems is an important first step in intervention.
The application of theory is advocated as an integral step in intervention design and evaluation and in evidence synthesis, for example, by the UK Medical Research Council's guidance for developing and evaluating complex interventions (Campbell et al., 2000, 2007; Craig et al., 2008; Glanz & Bishop, 2010).
Indeed, the same steps involved in intervention development are repeated to anticipate program diffusion and to target program implementers: performance objectves, change objectives, methods, applications and program.
The average of baseline steps in the intervention group was 3,249, by considering 10,000 as a final target; participants in the intervention group were advised to increase their steps by 500 per week [ 21] until they reached the first target of 5000 steps per day [ 22].
A program logic model is made to illustrate all steps in the intervention and their evaluation (Fig. 4).
Training diaries will capture the frequency of the back-specific exercises and pedometers will be used to assess the total amount of daily steps in the intervention arm.
