Efforts for cloning a number of other root QTLs are ongoing at NIAS (QTLs for stele size and surface rooting), JIRCAS (QTLs for P uptake), Nagoya University (QTL for root growth in response to soil moisture fluctuations and root growth plasticity) IRRI (QTLs for yield under drought), CIRAD (QTLs for root length) and Tamil Nadu University (QTLs for root penetration ability).
