Your faithful correspondent has made every effort to avoid sugarcoating the truth, or cutting the facts to some ideological end — this is Berkeley, after all, not the Fox News Channel — but simply to chronicle, without fear or favor, the course's steady, weekly bombardment of compassion, gratitude and positive thinking.
Our next president must be a person of steady temperament, superb judgment and compassion.
Speaking frequently and late into the night with governors and mayors of the affected region, he has demonstrated a compassion and a steady leadership that should remind us all of the qualities we not only want but should require in our president.
