A rapid wave of institutionalization was seen among firms soon after the 2001 opinion2 was issued by CSRC (China Securities Regulatory Commission); by 2003, most listed companies had filled their boards with new independent directors.3 Together with the fact that the CSRC forbids nonindependent directors,4 this ensured the status of independent directors.
Beyond expanding their marketing efforts, law firms have elevated the status of marketing directors, with some being called chief marketing officers and paid partner-level salaries.
"I don't think there's any need really to discuss the status of female directors," Maiwenn told reporters in Cannes.

The status of the director had been in the ascendant in the late 60s and 70s.
