In a recent TED talk you presented yourself as the "factivist", the nerd who is aroused by the statistics of development, but for all the data there also has to be an emotional engagement for any of this to work?
We start by reporting the descriptive statistics for the entire development period, and according to the different time intervals.
For analysis of microarray data the Bioconductor suite [ 21] and the R language for statistics (R Development Core Team; version 2.7.1) were used.
The ZCO produced and updated factsheets and posters on key social and development statistics for internal and external use.
The Regional Economic Commissions have sponsored the establishment of regional institutes of economic development in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and East Asia and have encouraged schemes for training in statistics to provide a sound basis for development planning.
This includes strengthening capacities in knowledge generation and statistics, accountability and international reporting, communication for development to promote positive social norms and safe behaviours, technology for development to promote children's participation and advocacy to raise the profile of children's rights in national dialogue.
