This year the gross state product should grow by around 4%, broadly in line with the nation's recovery.
The top ten states ranked by gross state product per capita are, in order: the District of Columbia (nearly a state), Delaware, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Alaska, California, Virginia, and Minnesota.
Even Nevada's projected gap, while 55 percent of the 2010 state budget, is only 1.3 percent of its gross state product in 2008.
