F9 Do we need standards for learning analytics (LA)?
SC36 was initially formed in 1999 with scope to produce IT standards for Learning, Education, and Training (LET).
Analysis to determine objectives and standards for learning is as critical for development of ITS in STEM topics as it is elsewhere.
However, comparing international and national VET programs is difficult due to their lack of common standards for learning goals (Brockmann et al. 2011).
New international standards for learning analytics, to enable interoperability and data sharing across platforms and software packages, have been proposed by the EU Learning Analytics Community Exchange (LACE) project (Hoel, 2014).
