At 10 00 am, each mouse was placed in a box with a floor composed of stainless grids, and a scrambled electric shock was delivered through the floor grids by a PST-001 AC stimulator (StarMedical, Tokyo, Japan).
Chunks of rendered-down brain – they look cake-like, or like some sort of grim survival fare – sit in the cells of a hefty, dull, stainless steel grid.
In comparison, the corresponding stainless steel grid produced predominantly two-dimensional nanobelt structures under otherwise identical conditions (Electronic Supplementary Information).

A thin spectroelectrochemical cell was designed and qualified, taking great care to obtain a reproducible surface state of the stainless steel grid electrode.
