The EPIS (Exploration, Preparation, Implementation, Sustainment) framework was selected and utilized as the guiding model from inception through project completion; including the mapping of implementation strategies to EPIS stages, articulation of research questions, and selection, content, and timing of measurement protocols.
EPIS was used to guide (1) the overarching JJ-TRIALS study design, (2) the mapping of implementation strategies across the study periods to EPIS stages, (3) the articulation of research questions, and (4) the selection and timing of measurement protocols.
In what follows, we describe why EPIS was selected and illustrate how the model served to guide (a) the overarching study design, (b) the mapping of implementation strategies across the study periods to EPIS stages, (c) the articulation of research questions, and (d) the selection and timing of measurement protocols.
More significant at this stage was the articulation of a judicial system, especially the establishment of supreme courts (New South Wales, 1814; Tasmania, 1824); normal trial by jury did not obtain.
