Research results show that the flow range and stacking height of three-phase foam in gob are significantly influenced by gravity.
The main design parameters are identified (length and utilisation of transhipment tracks, train and truck arrival behaviour/patterns, type and number of handling equipment, mean stacking height in the storage area, terminal access system and procedures) and analysed.
In situ wide-angle X-ray diffraction and small-angle X-ray scattering measurements have been performed during axial compression tests of composite strands of polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fibers with varying carbon layer stacking height and the changes in the crystallite and the microvoid structure have been analyzed.
However, of note is that while for 3 and 5 h increasing decomposition pressure increased stacking height, for the longest time in this study (7 h), stacking height was found to decrease as decomposition pressure increased.
The exact role of stacking height on the catalytic activity of MoS2 is unclear with support both for and against its influence (Daage and Chianelli 1994; Afanasiev 2010).
The change in stacking height with a change in pressure is not a novel concept having been noted before on supported hydrotreating catalysts, with HDS process conditions determined as the main cause of destacking (De la Rosa et al. 2004).
The crystallite structure parameters of the chars (average stacking height L c, carbon crystallite width L a and interplanar spacing d002) prepared at the gasification temperature of 800 °C were given in Table 2.
