Since background uptake of [11C]acetate diminished over time while tumour uptake remained rather stable, a static scan 30 min after tracer injection was the most optimal acquisition time point for tumour imaging with [11C]acetate.
Notably, the aGp array has additional practical advantages for clinical use because the obtained data were found to be very stable after scanning, even without sealing or other direct countermeasures against exposure to ozone (Supplementary Fig. S3).
