We evaluated ART-eligible patients and patients starting ART at a prototypical scale up ART clinic in Mbarara, Uganda between April 1, 2009 and May 14, 2010 where four stakeholders sponsor treatment – two PEPFAR implementing organizations, the Ugandan Ministry of Health Global Fundnd (MOH-GF) and a private foundation named the Family Treatment Fund (FTF).
In this study examining the costs and outputs of 14 I-TECH sponsored HIV treatment case management sites in Ethiopia, we found that the I-TECH Ethiopia program delivered 4,589 patient-quarters of services, served 5,056 patients and 1,995 successful exits at a cost of $167,457 over122 months, or $36 per patient-quarter, $33 per patient served, and $84 per successful exit.
