Cases reported to COVIS are classified into foodborne, nonfoodborne, or unknown transmission routes on the bases of the reported exposure (seafood consumption, marine/estuarine water contact, unknown) and specimen site (gastrointestinal, blood, or other normally sterile site; skin or soft tissue, other nonsterile site; unknown).
Results are shown in Tables 1 and 2. All operating theatre air specimens (sites A1 A3) exhibited a decrease in colony counts at the end of surgery (mean reduction 36.4%).
