The Navigation Guide methodology involves four steps: Specify the study question: Frame a specific question relevant to decision makers about whether human exposure to a chemical or class of chemicals or other environmental exposure is a health risk.
The approach we used to further specify the review question was highly iterative, modifying the question in response to search results and findings from retrieved items.
Methods: We applied the first 3 steps of the Navigation Guide methodology to human epidemiological data: 1) specify the study question, 2) select the evidence, and 3) rate the quality and strength of the evidence.
They will specify the research question, the dimensions to be evaluated, and the strategies to implement in order to conduct this HTA, notably regarding patient involvement in the next stages of the process.
