Cross-talk between the Notch, EGFR, JAK/STAT and Fat-Hippo pathways are needed for the precise timing and execution of the cell fate specification programme underlying the neuroepithelial to neuroblast cell transition [ 121, 123– 128].
The aim of this study was to determine whether the QC is established in arabidopsis ARs, whether its establishment and maintenance are under auxin and cytokinin control, and whether the QC specification programme is shared by ARs of different origin, i.e. formed either by the hypocotyl pericycle cells in planta or by the stem endodermis cells in the TCLs.
A central question is whether stochastic noise in a transcriptionally permissive state can be sufficient to establish a lineage specification programme (Chang et al, 2008; Huang, 2009), or is simply a foundation that requires coordination, amplification and selection by extrinsic stimuli.
Each programme will have intended learning outcomes, which are set out in the programme specification.
The present study was undertaken to produce a detailed specification of a programme of massage, controlled breathing and visualization performed regularly by birth partners, from 36 weeks gestation and assisted by a trained professional, following hospital admission during labour and birth.

However, we expect that our current specification better mirrors true programme cost because programme managers may prefer to use a simple, transparent formula, as we have done here.
