Three special cases exist for the net present value calculation: (1) for a uniform series of revenues or costs over N periods, NPV(A n |i, N) = A[(1 + i N − 1]/i(1 + i) N ; (2) for an annuity or interest rate i approaching zero, NPV = A × N; and (3) for the revenue or cost series to continue forever, NPV = A/i.
Special cases exist where the reciprocal plots are not linear.
Specifically, exposure odds ratios are estimated without bias (asymptotically) provided that missingness does not depend jointly on exposure and outcome, and even then, special cases exist where bias does not result.
