In my philosophy class, everyone was speaking really fast, and I was trying to keep up with the conversation.
I just timed my sentence, doubled it, then did it again, this time speaking really slowly, and it still came in at under a minute.
"As a little kid," Vernacchio said, "I got pegged as a good public speaker, so I started narrating all the school plays and reading at church; I got over the fear of speaking really early".
