Subjects were instructed to connect the studied pairs by lines and to add a confidence rating indicating whether they were absolutely sure that it is the right link (1), somewhat sure (2), or just guessing/excluding (3).
Responses ranged from: 1 = not at all sure, 2 = somewhat sure, 3 = very sure.
