Most North Koreans avoid the camps, but none escapes Songbun – the subject of another solid study.
"It seems to be a solid study with an environmentally relevant species," said Donald Tillitt, an environmental toxicologist with the United States Geological Survey, who was not involved in the study.
Dr. Stefano Bertozzi, who heads the foundation's AIDS programs, said the gel -- with a solid study showing its effectiveness -- was just the kind of project that rich countries could justify to taxpayers.
"It's a solid study and an important study," he says.
"I think it's a very solid study," says Rasmus Nielsen, a population geneticist at the University of California, Berkeley.
However, the discussion is more on providing a descriptive analysis without involving any concrete and solid study.
"It's a solid study," says Nick Haddad, an ecologist at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, "and it's unique in that nobody's looked at the effects of corridors on gene flow".
The team's analysis "looks like a solid study, and the most interesting new result is the tie to the West Antarctic Ice Sheet," says Richard Alley, a climate scientist at Pennsylvania State University, University Park.
