There are many kinds of kits for extracting microbial genomic DNA, such as the QIAamp Fast DNA Stool Mini Kit (Qiagen, Germany) (Xia et al. 2014), the Power Soil DNA Isolation Kit (Mo Bio, USA) (Stearns et al. 2011) and the Minibest Bacterial Genomic DNA Extraction Kit (Takara, Japan) (Hu et al. 2013).
