Fostering digital participation through a social living lab model and methodology that uses social inclusion and digital connectivity differentiates this project from established living labs approaches that are typically designed more for industrial or commercial applications.
One of these co-working spaces, the Social Impact Lab, is designed to facilitate collaboration and incubate ideas.
"The government put in about $30 per student per year," said Maria May, program manager of BRAC's social innovation lab.
"Nobody questions the motivations of a rock rolling down a hill," says Brian Scassellati, director of Yale's social robotics lab.

It operates a "Social Video Lab" in its London headquarters and is able to predict the "virality" of video using an algorithm based on 250,000 viewer reactions and 1.3 trillion video views.
Ozlem Ayduk, an associate professor in the Relationships and Social Cognition Lab at the University of California, Berkeley, said children sitting at the dinner table with a print book or crayons were not as engaged with the people around them, either.
