"There is no other threat [than climate change] that affects so many world heritage sites, and has so much potential to cause destruction," said Markham.
Yet, despite the presence of so many black heritage sites, other hurdles to attracting black tourism have proved tough to overcome.

"So many brands are heritage brands that have been around a long time so their consumers are older," said Ms. Mednick, who liked the idea of a brand's taking aim at younger consumers.
But, he added, "There is a unique quality to the relationship with the Americas," given that so many Americans trace their heritage there.
In so many countries, their natural heritages are in museums, but sadly, in Nepal, the heritage is decaying because of the carelessness of the government.
