Its lengthy title, "Cotton Puffs, Q-Tips, Smoke and Mirrors: The Drawings of Ed Ruscha" comes from the artist's interview in the catalog, in which, speaking with Ms. Rowell, he jokingly characterizes cause and effect: two of his favorite drawing tools and the magical effects they work.
